What this indicator means
Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and ARBs (angiotensin receptor blockers) are drugs used to treat heart failure. They are particularly helpful in cases where the function of the left side of the heart is compromised, a condition referred to as Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction (LVSD).. Early treatment with ACE inhibitors and ARBs in appropriate patients can reduce their risk of death from future heart attacks. This indicator measures the percentage of patients given ACE Inhibitor (ARB) for Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction (LVSD).
